Manchester United have secured the long-term future of Kobbie Mainoo, with the 20-year-old midfielder signing a contract extension that keeps him at the club until 2031.

The deal reportedly sees Mainoo’s wages rise to approximately £120,000-a-week, reflecting his status as a cornerstone of the club’s recent resurgence under Michael Carrick.
Since the turn of the year, Mainoo has become indispensable, missing only one fixture and playing nearly every minute as United closed in on a Champions League return.
“Manchester United has always been my home,” Mainoo stated, adding that he is “determined” to help the club regularly fight for major trophies in the seasons ahead.
The academy graduate’s commitment follows a breakthrough period that saw him earn a recall to Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the upcoming 2026 World Cup cycle.
His resurgence marks a stark contrast to his time under former manager Ruben Amorim, where the youngster struggled for consistent minutes before Carrick’s appointment.
United officials see the deal as a vital piece of their summer strategy, coming just weeks after veteran defender Harry Maguire signed a one-year extension.
