Ruben Amorim is reportedly preparing for life without Marcus Rashford next season as Manchester United have set a £60 million asking price for Aston Villa to make the player’s loan move permanent this summer.
Rashford, who joined Villa on loan during the January transfer window, has made a modest impact with four assists in nine appearances under Unai Emery. However, Amorim was reportedly displeased with Rashford’s effort levels in training before his departure, leading to the England forward not playing for United since December 12.
According to the Daily Star, Amorim is open to letting Rashford leave permanently, with United demanding £60 million, although previous reports suggested a £40 million option to buy was included in the loan deal.
Speaking after Rashford’s exit, Amorim admitted that the forward struggled to adapt to his tactical demands: “I couldn’t get Marcus to see the way you’re supposed to play football and to train the way I see it. Sometimes players perform better under different coaches.”
With Rashford now at Villa, Amorim is focused on building his squad, leaving the decision on Rashford’s future to Emery and Villa’s management.
