According to FIFA regulations, players who withdraw from international duty due to injury are not allowed to play for their club within five days after their national team’s last match.

Martinez withdrew from the Spain squad on March 17 citing an injury, with Spain finishing their international fixtures on March 23 after defeating the Netherlands in the Nations League quarterfinals.

However, Martinez returned to action for Barcelona in the rescheduled fixture against Osasuna on March 27, raising concerns of a breach in FIFA’s five-day rule.

Osasuna is reportedly considering filing a complaint, which could result in a 3-0 win being awarded to them if successful.

Barcelona currently leads La Liga with 63 points, three points ahead of Real Madrid and seven points clear of Atletico Madrid. They will next face Girona on March 30.
