“Matias will provide strong competition for places in our youthful squad and we welcome him to AFC Bournemouth,” chief executive Neill Blake told the club’s official website.
Vina featured 44 times across one-and-a-half seasons for Roma, helping Jose Mourinho’s side to win the 2021/22 UEFA Europa Conference League.
He has also been capped 28 times by Uruguay, and featured twice in the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar.
Vina could make his debut on 4 February when AFC Bournemouth travel to Brighton & Hove Albion.
